Doctor's Appointment

This guest post from Werner Rogers

My dad is always talking about how he is amazed how you can do pretty much everything on the Internet now. He said that when he was growing up, he would have never imagined that everything would be so quick and convenient. I was telling him that my doctor’s office has started a new thing where you can go online to make appointments or to check test results. It is so much easier to make appointments online because I can see when all of the available appointments are and choose one that is the most convenient for me. If I have any lab work done, I can check the results within a few days instead of having to wait for the doctor to call me back about them. It is so easy to navigate the website and I am actually surprised that doctors’ offices have not used this system before.

Not too long ago I searched Wildblue deals online and had new Internet set up at my house. I am so glad that I did because it definitely makes everything easier. My dad was really impressed with this new system and said that he might even have to switch to my doctor’s office.

North Korea Party Rock Anthem

Even though the song isn't one of my favorites, this Youtube video of Dear Leader and his party makes me LMFAO. As they say, "Ain't no party like a Pyongyang party, 'cause a Pyongyang party is ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY."

Vintage Guitars Need TLC

After buying a vintage Hondo electric guitar last year - sight unseen from an auction - I was more than jazzed at the condition it was in. Although it was playable as is (of course it needed new guitar strings) I decided to take it to a repair shop to have the neck straightened and the bridge optimized.

The difference was amazing. A very slight buzz from the strings was removed and the strings were actually easier to press down. As a bonus, the guitar's looser touch actually sped up my play.

The upshot is vintage guitars can benefit from this type of tuneup. A little TLC can definitely improve play and the work wasn't expensive at all compared to the coolness of rocking a vintage.
